A concussion is a brain injury that is generally caused by a blow, jolt, or bump to the head. Concussions occur when the brain is moved and collides with the skull. These collisions can range from mild to severe. This disrupts the way the brain normally works.
-Headache (MOST COMMON-94%)
-Confusion
-Concentration/Memory Changes
-Dizziness/Balance Problems
-Feeling tired or sluggish
-Vision changes
-Nausea (feeling like you will vomit)
-Sensitive to light or noise
-Use the proper sports equipment, including protective gear. It should be worn every time you play or practice.
-Practice good sportsmanship/fair play
-Educate yourself and others about the signs and symptoms of concussion
